Stones
allow you to:
* bring your client to a deeper relaxation faster
* create greater flushing (cleansing) of internal organs and
muscle tissues
* work deeper with less effort and more comfort for the client
* brings balance to the meridians and the internal body
* have the results of your work last longer
* address chronic pain and tension, and injuries, with more
confidence
Stones save your body and protect you from injuries:
* you do not use your thumbs, fingers, hands, wrists, or elbows
because the stones do the work instead –
you just hold them and use them as tools.
* the stress on your body parts is much less, so you protect
yourself from injuries and loss
of livelihood
You get a treatment, too!
* the temperatures of the stones, heat (hot)and less-heat (cold),
treat your client and treat you – the
client gets a full body treatment, and you get a mini-treatment
through your hands
* getting a mini-treatment will keep you from getting too warm,
and you will feel energized after working
with the client
You may easily adapt the stones to other modalities
(approaches):
* stones work well with Swedish, sports massage, and deep-tissue
massage
* stones replace your thumbs with shiatsu and acupressure
* stones amplify the work you do with reiki and chakra balancing
* stones help to calm people after emotional and physical traumas

AND SPA MANAGEMENT |
Stone
treatments have become an alternative to hydro-therapy:
* heat is transmitted into the body (hot stones) and
pulled out of the body (less-heat, cold stones)
more consistently than with water, and may be moved throughout
the body’s regions more easily and effectively
* heat and less-heat (cold) can be longer in application depending
on the temperature, thickness (length of time
for temperature to transfer), and theuse of the stones
* stones provide a tool that carries temperatures as opposed
to soaks and compresses
* stone treatments result in less mess, are easier to administer,
and cost less to set-up and maintain (no need
for hoses, running water, tubs, etc.)
* stone treatments are able to affect the deeper tissues as
the stone is able to sink further into the
tissue
Stone treatments balance energy within the body:
* they are the electro-magnetic equivalent to body
and earth (grounding effect)
* stones provide the opportunity to do sounding into deeper
muscles and deeper joint connections, helping
with the release and the freeing up of congestion and energy
stagnation in those areas
* grounding properties of stones and heat bring neurological
sedation and deep relaxation
Challenges of temperatures created by alternating hot stones
with cold stones:
* alternating temperatures bring a greater flushing
of the areas being worked, as well as the organs
and internal tissues due to blood being rushed into these areas
as the mind/body works to return the internal
body temperature back to normal temperature (homeostasis)
* provides the ability to get deeper into tissue and encourage
a greater release, as the
less-heat (cold) stones are able to take in and
hold inflammation (heat), while applying minimal
pressure, thus reducing or eliminating the pain that follows
this type of work (especially the next day)
Workman’s compensation for injuries:
* stones do most of the work (ie, massage, pressure,
point work, pulling, pushing, between muscles
and bones, etc.), so there is little or no stress on the practitioner’s
thumbs, fingers, knuckles, wrists, forearms,
elbows, and shoulders, and the ergonomic/posture
stress posed by traditional hand and arm work
(hence, less injuries!)
* mini-treatment received through the practitioner’s hands
brings greater balance and keeps the energy
level higher (hence, less fatigue!)
Clients and patients love the experience and ask for the treatment
again!
